Grandpa

14: 1   I remember lying in bed,

Dreading the day you would die, 

An imagining of my biggest fear,

How would I manage that goodbye? 

14: 2  Knowing it would come to pass, My tears would fall,

Our time doesn’t last, 

14: 3  A few years later, I was far away,

Unable to see you, On your last day, 

14: 4  Pain was unbearable, The long flight back,

Seeing you in the coffin, Unbelieving I sat,

14: 5  Now years later, time does heal, 

You’re still in my dreams, Memories time can’t steal
